Characterization and classification of the wall rocks of mines for circularity require extensive data sets covering a variety of properties in the rock types including chemical and mineralogical composition, petrophysical properties as well as the mechanical strength properties and environmental requirements.  

Mineralogical and chemical properties have been acquired using cost-effective hand-held equipment for the data acquisition. The mechanical strength and environmental requirements' properties have been determined by sampling of different rock types and performing the required laboratory analyses.  

The result is a comprehensive digital model for wall rock classification and quality variations, enabling cost-effective waste rock circularity and lifecycle management. Data of wall rock properties improves the cost-efficiency of the mine and enhances the circular economy of waste rock.
