Quality control of geological data

GTK project activities annually generate new geological data in research projects (Research | GTK), that also utilise existing material, such as the National Drill Core Archive (Sample archives and collections | GTK). The geodata sets maintained by GTK are among the best in the world (Finland’s geodata sets are among the best in the world | GTK) and GTK updates the quality control of the data produced so that its value for both scientific and economic research is high enough. This is accomplished by updating the sampling procedures and process quality control (QA/QC = Quality Assurance (“QA”), Quality Control (“QC”)). Quality control also considers environmental and occupational safety aspects as well as data management throughout the sampling process. It is used in project valuation and progress monitoring. This project focuses on rock sampling processes, not forgetting stakeholder activities, and permitting processes, alongside technical implementation.
