WP2 Sustainability in exploration

In this WP the partners will be focus on the factors related to sustainability by introducing a novel approach to produce data and maps that distinguish regions that feasible for exploration.
We will use the information of other land use as input in MPM modeling to indicate which areas are achievable for exploration in addition to the traditional MPM output which is delineating areas favorable for exploration. However, the original miner-al prospectivity model with the most favorable areas delineated remains so it can be used if so desired.
The use of other land used has challenges in availability of data that is needed to distinguish the restricting and competing areas from neutral areas. Furthermore, it is not always possible to make the decision before the geological potential has also been evaluated as its value can also be significant.
Therefore, this approach of using other land use to restrict areas explicit from the mineral prospectivity maps can be considered somewhat harsh method as we can lose targets that could have been included in the high favorable areas in the mineral prospectivity analysis without the sustainability judgment.
